For an all action day, why not go surfing at Croyde Bay, Woolacombe or Putsborough during the morning and then horse riding in the afternoon. Or North Devon has a range of wonderful golf courses, some to test the very best, and to round off your sporting day outdoors go clay pigeon shooting in the afternoon. Arrange a private golf lesson with Andy Pye (PGA Golf Professional) at the Portmore Golf Park set in the heart of North Devon. Culture

During the summer months visit Broomhill Art Hotel with sculpture gardens, art gallery and restaurant. Or Marwood Hill Gardens on a Sunday afternoon. In the village hall the local WI prepare a wonderful cream tea and you can then enjoy a stroll in the gardens, which are open every day of the year except Christmas Day.
